The S61 expressway forms part of the international E67 route, known as Via Baltica, which is intended to connect the Baltic States with Central Europe. The Stawiski–Szczuczyn section is a key part of the Polish segment of Via Baltica and has significantly improved transit traffic in the region, supporting both economic activity and tourism, which peaks during the summer season.
The project was developed on the basis of the Programme Concept prepared by our team during the previous design stage. Apart from environmental considerations, it did not involve any major engineering challenges. Despite the adopted delivery model, we achieved smooth traffic flow and ensured that the route blended well with the landscape of the Podlaskie region.
This contract provided valuable experience in working under the Design & Build model. It strengthened our organisational capabilities and significantly expanded our know-how in cooperating with major contractors.
